AC Yoke WE-3HD

WE-3HD is based on the industry standard for Yoke construction, however has Western Instruments’ Ruggedness and quality built in. The WE3-HD utilizes many of the standard features of competitive AC Yokes, so it is recommended for Dry Method Inspection Media, but it is better than competitive units, for Wet Method Media, due to our exclusive Slip-in Switch Cover and Rugged Strain Relief. The WE-3HD has several of the premium features of our WC-Series Yokes, such as a multi-position power cord, making it superior to any competitive AC Yoke. The WE-3HD is an economical alternative to our Premium Quality AC Yokes, which have significant safety advantages over the WE-3HD.

The ergonomically designed housing combined with its light weight, reduces operator fatigue and strain, for more effective inspections. The compact design and adjustable Power Cord position allows the WE-3HD to fit into confined spaces better than full size Yokes. The Urethane rubber housing provides superior durability in rugged environments, so the WE-3HD is suitable for the Big Arctic or the Sahara Desert.

The WE-3HD lifts well over 10 pounds, exceeding ASTM or ASME Specifications for AC Yokes. Performing Magnetic Particle Inspection, with an AC field, is the fastest and easiest way to find surface discontinuities. The AC field provides maximum magnetic particle mobility, which cause Magnetic Particles to migrate quickly and congregate at defects. Demagnetization is simple with this ‘one man inspection’, the operator simply activates the Yoke while pulling it off the workpiece.
